As Brookstone's catalog success grew, its operations expanded. In 1973, Brookstone opened its first
retail Store in Peterborough, New Hampshire, where an unsolicited walk-in trade quickly developed.
Today, Brookstone manages operations through its headquarters in Merrimack, New Hampshire, and in its
Distribution Center and Customer Service Department (mail and telephone orders) in Mexico, Missouri.
Meanwhile, the Company currently operates more than 305 retail Stores throughout the United States and
Puerto Rico, primarily in premium shopping malls, lifestyle center and the nation's busiest airports,
and opens 10 to 15 new Stores each year.
Originally a catalog company, Brookstone today operates a multifaceted Direct-Marketing business that
includes two catalogs and an ever-expanding Internet operation. The Brookstone catalog features
Brookstone branded products available in our Stores and merchandise from key vendors who share our
vision for quality and innovation; the Hard to Find Tools catalog provides Customers with unique,
high-quality solutions for the home; combines the selections available in both catalogs and in Stores and generates an increasing share of revenue of profit while also serving as one of the Company's primary marketing vehicles.

providing high-quality, unique and innovative products, Brookstone annual sales approach half a billion
dollars and grow steadily each and every year.
